Officials said that there are chances of light rain and winds on Saturday as well. With the impact of crop residue burning along with dust storms impacting city’s air, the rain washed away particulate matter.
Attributing the rainy weather conditions to the passage of frequent Western Disturbance the IMD in its latest bulletin has predicted that rain, thunderstorm accompanied by hailstorm is likely over the hills in north India and dust storms in the plains in the next 48 hours.
The train services on down line (towards Botanical Garden) section between T-1 IGI Airport to Shankar Vihar stations of the Magenta Line are running with a restricted speed of 30 kmph since 8 am, a senior official said.

The Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) woke up to heavy showers on Thursday morning. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Delhi NCR and heavy rains at isolated places across northern India over the next five days.
