Wife of DRDO scientist murdered

Police suspect someone known to the family to be behind the incident.

The wife of a senior DRDO scientist was found murdered at her residence in the DRDO quarters in Byappanahalli on Monday morning. The deceased has been identified as Rajani Rajabala,49, wife of Packia Dhas, scientist ‘D’ attached with the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) of DRDO.

Joint Commissioner of Police for law and order (east) K V Sharathchandra said the incident took place between 11 to 11.30 am on Monday and came to light when a neighbour noticed the victim lying in a pool of blood. The killer slit the woman’s throat and fled.

Police said Rajani Rajabala was staying in the third floor of the F wing of the quarters. She was alone in the house as her husband had gone to work and her daughter left for college.
