Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today asked Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to fulfill the party’s all election promises within next two years.

Addressing a rally organised to celebrate the 62nd birthday of party general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Agarwal in Hardoi,Mulayam said: “All poll promises should be implemented within the next two years. The astounding majority received by SP in polls was unexpected,we should fulfill all the expectations of the people so that their faith remains intact.”

On his part,Akhilesh assured that the SP government will honour all commitments. “We will spend public money on the welfare of public only. We have initiated several schemes for the benefit of the people,” the Chief Minister said.

Mulayam also said that the partition of the country was a mistake and a confederation of India,Pakistan and Bangladesh should be formed. He also stated that India should help Nepal in its crisis and keep a tab on China.

Naresh and his MLA son Nitin Agarwal left no stone unturned to make it an impressive event. The town was decked up for the occasion, particularly Vatganj, where Naresh’s ancestral house is located. Mulayam said: “I wish Naresh good health and hope he will play important role in national politics.”

The party’s Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan, too, was present and addressed the gathering. This is her first appearance in a party programme after becoming a Rajya Sabha member earlier this year.

Naresh,a known party hopper, had organised a similar rally in 2004 to commemorate his 25 years in politics. At that time,Amar Singh too had attended the rally along with Mulayam.
