One more Zika case found in Pune, total of 19

The Pune Municipal Corporation has reported one more case of Zika virus infection in a 61-year-old man from Mundhwa (Hadapsar). The count of cases has increased to a total of 19 in the city.

As per PMC data from June 21 to date, at least 495 homes had mosquito breeding sites across areas like Erandwane, Mundhwa, Dahanukar Colony, Ambegaon Bk, Kharadi, and Kalas.

As many as 357 notices have been issued to the defaulters and more than Rs 1.9 lakh has been collected as fines. Meanwhile, a total of 152 samples have been sent to ICMR-NIV for tests to confirm Zika virus infection.
