An engineering graduate has been booked for forging her lovers signature on the consent form for in-vitro fertilisation procedure at a private hospital here. The 51-year-old lover,who was the womans professor at an engineering college,was in the custody of Loni Kalbhor police for allegedly harassing her when the forgery was done.
The professor had filed the complaint. Deccan police said the professor,who has two children in another marriage,and the woman had an affair for the past five years. Senior inspector Manohar Joshi said the woman had told the man that she wanted a child from him. There were repeated disputes between them for the past three months over her past two unsuccessful pregnancies. She had registered a complaint against him under Sections for Domestic Violence Act at Loni Kalbhor police station.
Joshi said the woman had approached a private hospital for IVF procedure in September. At that time,he was in police custody. As the procedure requires consent from the husband or relative as the case may be,she allegedly forged the complainants signature. He approached us after he got to know about this. The suspect is now one month pregnant after the procedure.
