The Mumbai under-22 team defeated Maharashtra by seven wickets in the CK Nayudu knockout trophy at Nashik.
Maharashtra won the toss and chose to bat. They put up a decent total of 278 runs before being bowled out in 84.5 overs.
Sandeep Adole top-scored with 76 runs while Vishant More supported him well with a half century. For Mumbai,Shivraj Deshmukh was the pick of the bowlers,scalping three wickets for 34 runs in his 15 overs. Nadeem mehdi and Aquib Shaikh supported him well with a couple of wickets each.
In reply,Mumbai managed to score 226 runs before being bowled out in 61.1 overs. Suryakumar Yadav top scored with 95 runs while Nikhil Patil supported him well with 40 runs of his own. For Maharashtra,Jitendra Patil was the pick of the bowlers scalping four wickets for 61 runs in his 18 overs. Ganesh Kukade supported him well with three wickets of his own.
In the second innings,Maharashtra rode on Rohan Bhonsales century to score a total of 298 runs before being bowled out in 111 overs.
Bhonsale scored 150 runs while Ganesh Kukade supported him well with 40 runs. For Mumbai,Aquib Shaikh,Nadeem Mehdi and Pankaj Jaiswal took a couple of wickets each to restrict the opposition.
Mumbai achieved the huge target of 352 thanks to a brilliant century scored by Kaustubh Pawar. Pawar scored 108 and was supported well by Swapnil Salvi who scored 79 runs.
