Vikas Shijwan,fiancé of Amrapali Chavan who was injured in the blast and is critical in the ICU of Inlaks and Budhrani Hospital,says it is a wait and watch period for their families. Standing outside the ICU,he said they have been praying and hoping that Amrapali recovers soon.
Recounting the fateful day,Vikas said,We had gone for a snack at German Bakery and while I went to pay the bill there was a blast. I turned and rushed towards Amrapali who had fallen down with several planks on her. According to the doctors,Amrapali is under constant monitoring as her electrolyte levels are changing. Her lungs also show congestion making the doctors keep her in the ICU.
Families of Aditi Jindal and Sumeet Singh also continue to wait outside the ICU of Inlaks and Budhrani. Aditi,the girl from Ambala,is still critical as her lungs continue to be congested. According to the doctors,Aditi had inhaled the hot fumes causing damage to the lungs. Her one limb has been amputated and while her burns are being medically managed,doctors hope she pulls out of the crisis. One patient from Sudan with 70% burns is also critical at Jehangir Hospital.
Sumeet Singh,a legal consultant at Aditya Birla firm in Mumbai,is also recovering,says Dr Asha Relwani,medical superintendent at the hospital. We will shift him out of the ICU soon, he said.
