Traffic snarls galore at tourist spots

Roads and highways approaching tourist spots near Pune witnessed major traffic snarls on Sunday.

Officials at the highway control room said both the Pune-Mumbai Expressway and the Pune-Mumbai old highway,near Lonavla and Khandala,saw traffic jams.

The traffic was also slow-moving owing to continuous rainfall. Traffic was jammed between 4.30-7.30 pm, said an official.

Routes to Khadakwasla dam also witnessed traffic jams throughout the day,with a large number of tourists visiting the dam. The traffic around the dam was unusually slow, a police officer said.
