Three minor boys rob 74-yr-old man

A gang of three minor boys aged around 12-13 years on Friday allegedly attacked a 74-year-old man,Arvind Mahadev Agavne,and robbed him.

A gang of three minor boys aged around 12-13 years on Friday allegedly attacked a 74-year-old man,Arvind Mahadev Agavne,and robbed him. They took away his wallet that had Rs 370. Following a compliant by Agavne,the Swargate police station detained two boys. Search is on to find the third boy.

“Agavne has said in his complaint that he stepped down from a bus near Laxmi Narayan talkies. He was walking towards his residence at Parvati gaon. In front of Ashray hotel at Mitra Mandal chowk,three boys allegedly waylaid and robbed him,” said Senior Police Inspector Ram Pathare.

The boys allegedly thrashed the old man and then robbed his wallet. The police said that two boys allegedly held his hands and the third boy pulled out his wallet. Agavne shouted for help and people gathered at the spot. “Meanwhile,our cops also reached the spot and managed to detain two boys of age 12 and 13 years,” said Pathare

The police said that one of the detained boys is a class VII student and the other is a class IV dropout. Both are from poor families of the Dandekar bridge area. Being minors,the boys were not arrested,but detained and later sent to observation home.
