Swine flu claims life of 70-yr-old

The patient had also been treated earlier for ischaemic heart disease.

A 70-year-old man from Sanjola tehsil of Solapur district,who had high fever and cough for four days,died at Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital on Wednesday due to swine flu infection. The patient had also been treated earlier for ischaemic heart disease.

The man,who had been unwell since March 8,was initially admitted to Yashodhara hospital at Solapur,but was shifted to Pune’s Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital on March 12.

Doctors said he succumbed to H1N1 virus-related pneumonia with severe acute respiratory disease and multi-organ failure. This is the 12th death registered by the PMC since January this year.
