Suspended SRPF constable held for rape

A 23-year old suspended constable with State Reserved Police Force (SRPF) was arrested for allegedly raping a 24-year-old call centre employee on the pretext of marrying her.

A 23-year old suspended constable with State Reserved Police Force (SRPF) was arrested for allegedly raping a 24-year-old call centre employee on the pretext of marrying her. Police said the suspect also forged a certificate of marriage.

The accused,identified as Vickey Baburao Bhise,is a resident of Bhavani Peth police colony.

The two met in 2007. The suspect on false pretext of marrying her had physical relationship with her. However,after some time when he started avoiding her,she filed a complaint of rape in 2009 only to take back the complaint after he reassured of marrying her, said B B Ingale Police inspector (Crime) with Samarth police station.

Bhise then took all her original documents and made a fake marriage certificate with fake government stamps. We received the complaint recently from the girl and arrested the accused, he added.

Police said Bhise was suspended from SRPF for misbehaviour with senior officers. He has been charged under Indian Penal Code sections 420,467,468 for cheating and forgery and 376 for rape. Police said Bhises father works with Pune police.
