Record breaking
Crossword has organised the launch of the DVDs and VCDs of Harishchandrachi Factory which was Indias official selection to the Academy Awards 2010 and traces the making of the countrys first ever motion picture. Paresh Mokashi,the director of the film,will unveil the collection for fans and interact with them. The unveiling will take place at Crossword,ICC trade towers today at 5.45 pm.
Swinging away
This Thursday the city will swing to some Spanish beats as Sandip Soparrkar will dance his way down to the Leather Lounge where he will perform the paso doble (which is a typical Spanish march-like dance style danced by a couple) along with Jesse Randhawa. The event,which begins at 7.30,is open for all dance aficionados and promises to be a dancing extravaganza with performances by Soparrkars students from the Pune studio as well. The night will also witness an hour-long West Coast Swing workshop that Soparrkar will be conducting.
Style parade
The stars descended with the beauties of Pune and the gallant men in uniform as the ball rolled down the aisle at National Defence Academy (NDA). At the NDA Ball held on Saturday evening,the accolades were won by Jaie Phadane,who was adjudged the NDA queen. Held in the forecourt of the majestically lit Cadets Mess,the NDA Ball proved to be an eagerly awaited social event with the enthusiastic response from the socialites of Pune. Pranjali Ghatge was the first runner up while Pakhi Sajwan was declared second runner up. Cadet Tarun Bhardwaj was adjudged Mr NDA. Cadet Jatinjeet Singh and BCA Suveer Rathore were declared first and second runners up respectively. NDA Ball was organised as part of the functions planned on the passing out of 118th course of NDA.
