The grand felicitation
At the eighth Pulotsav,eminent music directors Ajay and Atul were felicitated with the ‘Pulotarunai Puroskar’ on November 17 for their achievements in Marathi music. The acclamation was held at Ramanbagh School and the award was presented to the duo by Sashank Paranjape,director of Paranjtee schemes.The felicitation was preceded by an interactive session with the duo,hosted by television actress Mrunal Kulkarni. In the chat session,the music composers spoke about how they built their career and how it took a lot of hard work to gain the recognition that they have today. Ajay and Atul are known for the super hit music that they have composed for Marathi films like Natrang,Sahi Re Sahi,Jogwa,Aga Bai Aricha and many more. In fact,Jogwa and Natrang have fetched them national awards.
Celebrating life
The evening of November 19 at Hotel Taj Blue Diamond will echo with the fun and frolic of those who who have fought cancer and conquered the disease. Organised by Prashanti Cancer Care Mission,the main aim of the evening is to generate awareness amongst citizens that cancer is a curable disease and a beautiful life exists beyond cancer. The occasion will be graced by eminent playback singer Abhijit Bhatacharya,who has pledged to extend his support towards the noble cause. The evening will also witness Sandip Soparkar shaking a leg with the cancer survivors.
Art Attack!
Artist Shirish Deshmukh will be exhibiting his collection of paintings till Sunday at Darpan Art Gallery,Senapati Bapat Road. The paintings mostly focus on several kinds of still life,portraits,mythology,which includes paintings of Shakuntala,and rural life. The 40 paintings that he will display are a compilation of his works from 1985-2010,and they have been done with water colour,acrylic and oil paints. This is his tenth solo exhibition. As I will be celebrating my 50th birthday this month,I thought of putting up this exhibition as it also marks my 25th year in this profession, he says.
