The city and Pimpri-Chinchwad area continued to experience intermittent showers on Wednesday.
Pune city saw 5.3 mm rain for 12 hours till 8:30 pm on Wednesday. About 10,000cusecs from Mulshi Dam was also released.
There was rain on Tuesday too. The Met department said that spells of light rain will continue on Thursday as well. Officials said that the well marked low pressure area over Orissa and adjoining Chhattisgarh,and cyclonic circulation over Gujarat region and its neighbourhood has seen the state getting good rainfall.
According to the Met department,the offshore trough along the Gujarat to Kerala coast is another reason for the continous showers in the region which is expected last for the next 48 hours.
