She takes inspiration from the many wonders of nature and mixes them with portrayals of various human emotions and expressions. Malaka Spice is currently hosting an art exhibition by artist Seema Ghiya,for whom painting started as a hobby that translated into water colour landscapes. She has participated in several exhibitions,like Lokmanya Tilak National Exhibition,Marine Art Exhibition,Chitari Academy of Fine Arts State Level Art Exhibition,Poona Women’s Council Art Exhibition,and more. She’s also held group shows at Sanskar Bharti Camp,Bliss Art Gallery,Art Today Gallery. She has won several state level competitions and taken part in art camps and live demonstrations. The exhibition runs at Malaka Spice,Lane 5,North Main Road,Koregaon Park,till May 31,between 11am and 11:30pm.

Baby steps

Phoenix Market City,in association with Pune Kids Fashion Festival,hosted an interesting three-day kids festival from May 11 to May 13. Over 150 children aged between four and 12 years walked the ramp draped in various designs of western and ethnic wear. The entire star cast of the movie Chintu also walked the ramp in the grand finale. Satyajit Joglekar,chairman of Goa Fashion Week,had conceived and organised the festival.

Pet Tales

Here’s one book written from a different protagonist’s point of view. The Dog’s Jockey is a book written by Priyanka Ghode was launched recently at the hands of Vandana Chavan at Hotel Kapila. The book talks of the unconditional bonding of a dog with his masters. Written in the format of an autobiography penned by an Indian dog,the book traces the relation between the animal and its guardians.

Foreign Furnish

US-based Herman Miller Furniture (India) Pvt Ltd has now set up a dealership facility in Pune. The store called Ergo Systems Showroom that was inaugurated recently is a 1200 square feet space on F C Road. Herman Miller has been in this business for over 100 years and active in India for over 11 years. The showroom promises products supplied with green credentials.
