SEAP inks pact with placement facilitator

The Software Exporters Association of Pune (SEAP) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Friends Union for Energising Lives (FUEL),a Pune-based non-profit organisation founded by students for joint efforts related to placements,facilitate industry connect and so on.

As per the MoU,a common placement platform is being organised for students in around 100 SEAP member companies. A SEAP-Certified Test for screening students before interviews and mock interviews for third year engineering students to help them prepare for placements after graduation is also in the pipeline,said Chetan Shah,president of SEAP and managing director,Synygy India .

Ketan Deshpande,chairman and founder,FUEL,said,”A connect with the industry is very important for students when they are in the learning phase.”

As a first step,SEAP has endorsed FUEL’s fellowship program ‘Ahead of Times’ for students of Class 12. The fellowship has been designed for students aspiring for professional degree courses. It aims to enhance certain skills in students that will make them valuable professionals. Apart from training in technical skills like the web,social media,productivity tools,etc the fellows will also be trained in active citizenship and entrepreneurship. SEAP was formed in 1998 by a group of software companies to foster better interaction among software export units in Pune,while FUEL NGO,formed in 2006,runs an education information helpline for students.
