Pune-Talegaon local extended up to Lonavala

The railway administration has decided to extend the Pune-Talegaon local that departs from Pune railway station at 7.20 pm till Lonavala following public demand.

The railway administration has decided to extend the Pune-Talegaon local that departs from Pune railway station at 7.20 pm till Lonavala following public demand. Before the major revamp in train service schedule that came into effect on July 29 the train used to ply between Pune and Lonavala stations.

Last month, the railway administration had decided to operate three local trains from Shivajinagar instead of Pune station. By terminating the Pune-Lonavala train at Talegaon and two Lonavala-Pune services at Shivajinagar, railways had started two news trains by utilising the time saved.

“We have received requests from commuters to continue the local till Lonavala. The change was causing inconvenience to office goers,” said railway spokesperson Y K Singh. The train will now leave Pune station at 5.10 pm instead of 5.20 pm.

Some local train timing will also be changed slightly effective from Saturday.
