Gopalakrishnan mentioned that they believe students from both advantaged and disadvantaged backgrounds can be evaluated fairly based on their academic performance as well as other factors. They noted that sports serve as a great equaliser, and they will be considering more than just marks for admissions.

“Exceptional achievements in any field, a desire to learn, and curiosity are the fundamental qualities we seek. We will be the only university that allows students to write their essays in English, Hindi, and Marathi,” Banerjee said. The university will also look for proficiency in basic English and mathematics.

The founders stated that the university aims to leverage its connections with various industries to ensure that the diverse demographics of India are accurately represented. They mentioned that NGOs engaged in education and related sectors will assist in identifying deserving students. The university plans to offer need-blind admissions, with nearly 50 per cent of the students receiving financial assistance. Currently, the fee structure is set at Rs 10 lakh per annum. The courses will also offer internships to students.
