Huge police force has been deployed around the Food Corporation of India (FCI) premises in Koregaon Park where counting of votes for the Pune and Baramati Lok Sabha constituencies would take place on Tuesday.
Besides, the South Main Road in the Koregaon Park area will be closed for all types of vehicular traffic between 12 am and 5 pm on Tuesday.
Vehicles would be divertepold to the lanes on the North Main Road in Koregaon Park.
Counting of votes will be conducted at the FCI’s godown in Koregaon Park.
For this purpose, vehicle parking arrangements for citizens are done at Rohi Villa Lawns in Koregaon Park, stated a press release issued by DCP (traffic) Rohidas Pawar.
Parking arrangements for vehicles of government personnel is done at the Kasturba Gandhi school and the Poona School and Home for Blind on the North Main road in Koregaon Park area.
Pravin Pawar, Joint Commissioner of Pune city police said, “Sufficient police deployments have been done. Nobody would be allowed to enter (vote counting center) without ID cards. Cell phones and cameras would not be allowed inside. All senior police officers would be on duty to ensure law and order is maintained. Police bandobast has been deployed in different parts of the city.”
Meanwhile, the Pimpri Chinchwad police have deployed force at the Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Kridasankul (Sports Complex) in Balewadi where counting of votes for the Maval constituency would take place on Tuesday.
Two deputy commissioners, five assistant commissioners, 13 police inspectors, 34 assistant and sub inspectors, 250 constabulary are deployed at the sports complex in Balewadi.
Police said that no celebration rallies would be allowed on Tuesday after the election results are out.
Similarly, the Pune rural police have deployed bandobast at the warehouse of the Ranjangaon MIDC where counting of votes for the Shirur Lok Sabha constituency in Pune district will take place.
Police said no cell phones, cordless phones, tabs, laptops, electronic watches would be allowed inside the counting centers.
