The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has urged its employees to donate one day’s salary to the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to assist people who have been adversely affected by the recent flooding in several parts of the state.
Naval Kishore Ram, Municipal Commissioner, said it is a national responsibility to help those suffering due to flooding in the state and urged employees not to oppose it. “The donation should be from the salary of October month. The civic administration should calculate a day’s salary and cut it from the pay to be given by the end of month,” he said.
Earlier this month the state government had urged its employees to donate a day’s salary for the same purpose. “The situation that has arisen due to natural calamity of heavy rain in the state recently… Thus, all state government employees should participate in providing relief to the affected citizens and should donate their one-day salary in the CM Relief Fund,” said the state government resolution.
