Pune Airport has witnessed a rise in air cargo throughput during FY 2025–26, according to the statement. (Source: Express Archives) The Airports Authority of India, Pune Airport, announced the commencement of the Winter Schedule 2025, effective from October 26, in a press release shared Tuesday by Airport Director Santosh Dhoke.
Under the new schedule, Pune Airport will be connected to two international destinations: Bangkok and Dubai. For domestic transport, Pune will be connected to 34 destinations in India.
Flights to Bangkok will be operated by Air India Express dDaily) and IndiGo (Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday), while flights to Dubai will be operated by SpiceJet (daily) and IndiGo (daily).
On the domestic front, Pune Airport will operate flights to 34 destinations across India. The destinations are Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneshwar, Vadodara, Bhopal, Bangalore, Kolkata, Coimbatore, Kochi, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Goa (Dabolim), Mopa, Hubbali, Rajkot, Hyderabad, Indore, Chandigarh, Ranchi, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jalgaon, Kishangarh, Lucknow, Chennai, Nagpur, Nanded, Patna, Raipur, Sindhudurg, Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, and Varanasi.
Among the approved slots, airlines will operate 208 flights at Pune Airport during the Winter Schedule 2025. Airlines are expected to further increase their operations based on commercial viability, aircraft availability, route optimisation, and crew deployment considerations.
The AAI said Pune Airport remains committed to providing safe, efficient, and passenger-friendly services while aligning with the authority’s broader objectives of operational excellence and sustainable aviation growth.
Pune Airport completely shifted operations to the 52,000-square-metre New Integrated Terminal Building in March this year. This new terminal has a capacity of 90 lakh passengers annually. The old terminal has been closed down and is under redevelopment.
33% increase in cargo as compared to September last year
Pune Airport has witnessed a rise in air cargo throughput during FY 2025–26, according to the statement. In September 2025, 4,792.5 metric tonnes (MT) of cargo was handled, an increase of nearly 33 per cent compared to 3,612.2 MT handled in September 2024.
For October 2025 (till October 26), Pune Airport has already handled 4,040 MT, nearing the total 4,309.7 MT achieved during the entire October 2024. The figures are expected to further rise due to increased movement of e-commerce goods, perishables, and high-value consignments.
Speaking on the performance, an AAI official stated, “The steady growth in cargo handling reflects Pune’s emergence as a key logistics hub in western India. Our focus remains on providing seamless cargo operations and ensuring faster turnaround during the festive season.”
