Policeman ‘caught red-handed’ accepting bribe

ACB has identified the policeman as assistant sub inspector Sahebrao Dagdu Warule, attached to the Chakan police station of Pune rural police.

The Pune unit of state Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Thursday arrested a policeman for allegedly accepting bribe from an injured person who had come to the Chakan police station to register a complaint.

ACB has identified the policeman as assistant sub inspector Sahebrao Dagdu Warule, attached to the Chakan police station of Pune rural police.

According to the ACB, an injured person came to the Chakan police station to register a complaint against persons who assaulted him. However, Warule demanded Rs 5,000 from this person man for getting his complaint registered.

The injured man then filed a complaint at the ACB against Warule. ACB sleuths laid a trap and nabbed Warule red-handed while he accepted the money from the complainant at the Chakradhar Hotel near Chakan police station.
