Police arrest four,seize stolen bikes

Hinjewadi police on Sunday arrested four youths and claimed five cases of armed robberies of employees in Rajiv Gandhi IT Park in Hinjewadi had been cracked.

Hinjewadi police on Sunday arrested four youths and claimed five cases of armed robberies of employees in Rajiv Gandhi IT Park in Hinjewadi had been cracked. Cops have also recovered six stolen bikes from the gang. The suspects have been identified as Babu Kurhade (19) and Santosh Kurhade (25),both residents of Dehu Road,Pappu Vilas Kamble (19) and Nagesh Sunil Ghanwat (19),both of Nigdi. “On March 15,the gang looted Thermax company employee Rohit Jaywant Sasane and another passerby Sachin Ramchandra Pawar of their valuables at gunpoint.” said senior police inspector Ganpatrao Madgulkar of Hinjewadi police station. Another victim,Vishal Mahendra Ahirrao was robbed at the same spot. Investigations revealed they also robbed three more persons in the same way,police said.

Youth arrested for raping 3-year-old

Pune: A three-year-old child of a construction labourer was allegedly raped by a 19-year-old youth at the victim’s house on Senapati Bapat road on Sunday. Chatuhshrungi Police have arrested the accused on Monday,whom the family of the victim knew since few months. Police have identified the suspect as Ranjit Bashishth Ram,a labourer from Bihar who stayed in the labour camp near the victim’s house. Victim’s father,32,has filed a police complaint. Sub-inspector SK Sakhare,ss who is investigating the case said,“The incident came to light after the victim’s father heard her scream and ran to a nearby tin shed where he found Ranjit with his daughter.” Medical reports revealed that the girl was raped. Sakhare said. “The accused will be produced before the court on Tuesday,” police said.

‘No need to shift Mane to mental hospital’

Pune: The prosecution in the case of MSRTC bus driver Santosh Mane has told the court that there are enough medical facilities at the Yerawada jail and thus there is no need to shift Mane to mental hospital. The prosecution said in its submission that there are three MBBS doctors and a psychiatrist posted at hospital in the Yerawada jail. Mane’s defence lawyer requested the court to reject the plea and said that only experts at the mental hospital could give a report on Mane’s condition.
