PMC to launch cleanliness drive on May 1

The scheme will also include an award for the best panels for cleanliness.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will be launching its ambitious Yashwantrao Chavan Pune City Cleanliness Abhiyan on the lines of Sant Gadgebaba Gram Swachata Abhiyan on May 1. The scheme will also include an award for the best panels for cleanliness.

The Abhiyan will be launched by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and will be attended by MP Supriya Sule and Vandana Chavan. An awareness programme will also be held at various places in the city.

“This is the beginning for making the city clean through the Abhiyan. We are encouraging everyone to come forward and participate in the Abhiyan to keep their area clean,” said Mayor Vaishali Bankar.

“The best panel shall receive a prize money of Rs two crore,which would be spent on the development work in the respective panel,” Bankar said.
