Hoteliers in Pimpri-Chinchwad have decided to hike prices on their menu by 15 per cent. The decision was taken at a recent meeting of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Hoteliers Association. The hike will come into effect from September 1. The hoteliers said a rise in input costs forced them to increase rates . The price of essential commodities,vegetables,fruits and rise in fuel prices forced us to increase rates, they said.
More land for Moshi centre
The Pimpri-Chinchwad New Town Development Authority (PCNTDA) will acquire more land for its Pune International Exhibition and Convention Centre (PIECC) at Moshi. The project needs 110 hectares of which 74.23 hectares have already been acquired. PCNTDA CEO Yogesh Mhase said,We have decided to send the proposal to acquire the remaining land to the district collector. PCNTDA is setting up the Rs 600-crore project on a 240-acre land at Moshi off the Pune-Nashik highway in association with the state government.
Disaster management portal
PCMC has opened an online disaster management portal to tackle floods,fires,accidents and cyber attacks. The civic body started the portal as part of the disaster management programme. The portal was inaugurated last week. PCMC coordinating officer Neelkanth Poman said civic administration will create public awareness about natural and man-made disasters through the portal.
Newale on civic education board
Vishnu Newale,a labour leader,has been picked as a member of the education board of the PCMC. His appointment as Congress member on the education board has been made by the state government. Newale heads the Tata Motors Employees Union.
