The Nationalist Congress Party top brass has re-appointed Azam Pansare as the president of it’s Pimpri-Chinchwad unit on Thursday.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) top brass has re-appointed Azam Pansare as the president of it’s Pimpri-Chinchwad unit on Thursday.

Addressing newspersons on Friday,Pansare said that various committees of the party in Pimpri-Chinchwad unit would be revamped by February. For this the old members on the board of the committee would have to go and other party workers would have to get a chance to be at the helm of affairs.

“ I will work towards strengthening the party in Pimpri-Chincwad. When the discussions for the elections of the post of new president of NCP’s Pimpri Chinchwad unit were going on,I conveyed the NCP pradesh office that they could choose any party worker they think is as apt for the post. There were rumours that people were opposed to me being reappointed as the president. But with my appointment it is proved that all these rumours were false.”

Pansare said he would work to make the party strong at the grassroot level for the upcoming municipal elections. In addition to the city committees,105 ward heads,11 block committees, women, students, youths and booth committees will be revamped. New presidents would be appointed for the assembly constituencies of Pimpri,Chinchwad and Bhosari.
