No loud music during immersion: cops

The police have warned Ganesh mandals not to play music or traditional musical instruments on loudspeakers between 12 pm and 6 pm during the immersion procession.

The police have warned Ganesh mandals not to play music or traditional musical instruments on loudspeakers between 12 pm and 6 pm during the immersion procession. Police have also banned the use of gulaal and fire crackers during the immersion procession. In a press release issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone I) Dnyanesh Phadtare,it was mentioned that as per Supreme Court guidelines,loud music is not allowed between 12 pm and 6 pm. Police would take legal action against Ganesh mandals causing sound pollution by playing music or traditional instruments on dolby systems during immersion procession. Police have also told the Ganesh mandals that the width of their decorations for immersion procession should not be more than 10 feet and height should not be more than 14 feet. Mandals have been asked not to use more than one vehicle and one trolly for the immersion procession.
