We have felt that certain pockets of the parkign space can be utilised better. Also the plan has been sanc0tioned for a new foot overbridge and details are being finalised,” said Agarwal in a press conference on Thursday. Alok Badgul, senior divisional commercial manager, said now the railway station has three parking slots – two near the main gate and one near platform 6. The total parking capacity is 1,200 two-wheelers and 170 four-wheelers.

“A multi-level parking is not feasible. Passengers, especially local ones, want to move on individual vehicles right till they board the train. Instead of using public transport they park vehicles every morning at the railway station, taking up a lot of space,” said another railway official.
