Newly-elected president of Pune Bar Association,advocate Milind Pawar,has promised to improve security,parking and canteen facilities at the Pune District and Sessions Court,Shivajinagar,during his tenure. Steps will be taken to allow only lawyers and judges vehicles on the court premises,he said. A pay-and-park scheme outside the court could be initiated with the help of Pune Municipal Corporation for litigants vehicles. This will strengthen security, he said.
In the Bar Association poll,Pawar got 2,424 votes of the 3,660 polled and will take over from advocate Ram Patole.
Other office-bearers elected are advocates Pravin Nalawade and Atul Gunjal as vice-presidents,advocates Abhijit Tikare and Vikas Hinge as secretaries,while advocate Atish Landge as treasurer and Fayyaz Shaikh as auditor.
Advocates Imtiaz Mulla,Sachin Kadam,Tushar Yadav,Dilip Pushkar,Ashok Rajshekar,Dharamraj Jadhav,Chandrashekar Chaudhary,Suresh Dhumal,Jaikumar Kadam and Paresh Sonawane are the executive members of the association.
