Nabbed in molestation case, MCOCA-accused pepper-sprays cops, ransacks Pune police station
The Sahkar Nagar police said the accused was arrested under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) two years ago.

A man accused in multiple criminal cases pepper-sprayed police personnel and ransacked the Sahkar Nagar police station in Pune when he was nabbed in connection with a molestation case early on Friday.
Officers identified the accused as Rishikesh alias Barkya Londhe, 21. The police said Londhe was arrested under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) two years ago. The MCOCA law is mainly meant for the prevention and control of criminal activity by organised crime syndicates or gangs.
Rahul Gaud, Senior Police Inspector, Sahkar Nagar police station, said, “The accused injured himself and pepper-sprayed the police. He has been taken to a hospital for a medical examination. We are lodging a fresh offence against him on charges of causing disturbance in government duty. Further investigation is on.”
Londhe was out on bail in the MCOCA case when he allegedly molested a woman who lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against him at Sahkar Nagar police station. A search was subsequently launched for him.
Officers traced Londhe’s location on Thursday night, and a police team nabbed him. He was taken to the station for further action when he attacked the police personnel there with pepper spray, causing irritation in their eyes.
