The indoor basketball court-cum-auditorium at the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre (PRC),Khadki,reverberated with foot-tapping music as Dina Das,who runs the Harmony Sa-re-ga-ma,gave a performance along with some of her students. Das,who is popular for her music shows featuring filmy olden goldies,also sets aside time to perform at old-age homes and for cancer patients. Das,who was overwhelmed by the enormity of the soldiers’ spinal cord injuries,and their grit,determination and cheerful attitude,said,“They are the real heroes,and I feel blessed that I could give them a few moments of joy with my music.” Khalsa Sweets of Viman Nagar provided a sweet ending by distributing mouth-watering Indian sweets to the jawans and their family members who attended the programme.
