The Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) on Tuesday announced the second edition of the Maharashtra Premier League 2010 featuring eight franchisees. The championship,which started last year,received an overwhelming response not only from the franchisees and players,but also from the whole state.
MCA has initiated this tournament to give due credit to the talents and to provide cricketing platform to the players in Maharashtra. The tournament will witness players from all over the state and will be a mix of state and local level players. They will be selected by a committee appointed by the MCA.
Maharashtra Premier League 2010 will be played as per the T20 League cum knock out format with adherence to the international rules and standards. Each team will be paying a minimum of seven games,followed by semi finals and finals.
The team auction will be held on February 13,the players auction will be held on February 15 and the tournament will kick off in the first week of May,said a release.
