Missing boy found alive in empty water tank in Bhavani

Police searched for Faiyyaz based on the description and photograph given by his family.

Police checked marketplaces, schools and other spots around his residence.

Meanwhile, a teacher informed the police that a boy had been spotted inside the empty water tank over the toilets in Harkadas School in Harkanagar. A police team rushed to the spot and rescued the boy. Cops immediately admitted him to the hospital for treatment and later handed him over to his parents. Police sub-inspector Narendra Baisane is investigating the case.

Police said Faiyyaz belongs to a lower middle-class family.

Senior police inspector Raghunath Jadhav said, “The boy is in good health now. He says that he fell inside the tank. He was inside for three days and survived miraculously. Prima facie, we do not suspect it to be a case of kidnapping. But investigation is being done considering different angles.”

Faiyyaz’s mother Sultana said, “My child is fine now. He says he went to the school area to play and then all of a sudden fell into the empty water tank. He feels some elder person pushed him from behind. But he could not see anyone as he fell down. Then, he cried for help. We are happy he is safe now. Doctors said he got dehydrated as he did not get any food and water in the empty tank.”
