1 migrant worker from Bihar dead, at least 2 injured during stone blasting in Pune district

The police have booked the unidentified accused under Sections 106 (1), 277, 125 (a)(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

One person died and at least two were left injured during the blasting of stones at Mangarul village in Maval taluka of Pune district on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as K B Sah, 25, a migrant worker from Bihar. Two others – Ram Prasad and Rahul Prasad – were injured in the incident.

M V Swami, 52, a resident of Maval, lodged the FIR in this case at the Talegaon MIDC police station of the Pimpri Chinchwad police.

Police sub-inspector Vivek Gowarkar, the investigation officer for this case, said, “Blasting took place at a private stone crushing unit… After the blasting, some heavy broken stone pieces fell over the workers of a private company. One of them received critical injuries, causing his death.”

Gowarkar said a probe was on to identify the people who carried out the blasting of stones. The police have booked the unidentified accused under Sections 106 (1), 277, 125 (a)(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
