The 15-day mega-block undertaken at Pune railway station for apron rehabilitation work was lifted on Monday. The block was causing inconvenience to commuters as six local and six passenger trains were operating from other local stations instead of Pune station.

According to officials, second phase of mega-block that may last for 10 to 15 days will be taken up soon for extension of platform no. six. From Tuesday, all locals and passengers would operate on their routine time, said Railway PRO Y K Singh.

The Railways is working towards increasing the capacity of platform no. six to 22 bogies from its current capacity of 18. Once the work at platform six gets over,it would take off considerable load from the other five overcrowded platforms.
