Pune-based man held for mutilating, ‘locking up’ wife’s genitals

Pimpri Chinchwad police have arrested a man who allegedly drilled and put a lock over his wife’s genitals after he cast aspersions on her character. The injured wife lodged the FIR in this case at Wakad police station.

Senior police inspector Nivrutti Kolhatkar said the gruesome incident took place on May 11, while the FIR was lodged on May 16, following a complaint received from his wife, who is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Police said the couple, who hails from Nepal, was currently residing in the Wakad area. The husband, being distrustful about his wife’s character, in anger, attacked her private parts with a blade.

“We arrested the husband and are investigating,” said senior inspector Kolhatkar. The accused has been booked under sections 323, 324 (voluntary causing hurt by the use of dangerous weapons or means) of the Indian Penal Code.
