Man held for beating woman to death, assaulting her children

Police identified the deceased as Antima Pande (36), who worked as a support staff for a private company in Chakan and hailed from Uttar Pradesh. The arrested accused Sachin Ramasray Yadav (23), worked as a cab driver and hails from Handia area of Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh. Pande’s daughter (15) and son (12) were also attacked by Yadav at the time he brutally beat up Pande with a wooden stick and a pipe, leading to her death.

As per the FIR, the incident took place between 6 pm and 8 pm on August 5 at the rented apartment where Pande lived. Probe revealed Pande was separated from her husband and had been in a relationship with Yadav for some time.

“Probe suggests that Yadav had a petty suspicion that Pande looked at other men from her balcony. Over this issue he had been having disputes with her and was physically abusing her. On the evening on August 5, Yadav brutally beat up Pande with a wooden stick and PVC pipe on her limbs and head. She succumbed to injuries during the attack. Yadav also beat up Pande’s two children who were present at the time and tried to protect their mother,” an officer from Mahalunge MIDC police station said.

“We have arrested Yadav on Wednesday after the FIR was registered. He has been remanded to police custody by the court.” the officer added.
