Maharashtra: Woman dies in Satara road accident, truck driver held

Rubal fell on the road and was hit by another vehicle coming from the other side, police said.

A woman working with an IT company in Pune died in a road mishap at Shindewadi in Khandala taluka of Satara district on Sunday morning.

Police identified the deceased as Rubal Rajivkumar Sinha (25), a native of Odisha, who had been residing in Manjari Budruk area of Pune.

An offence was lodged at Shirwal police station in Satara. Police said the deceased and her three friends were on their way to Mahabaleshwar on their two-wheelers when a speeding truck collided with one of the two-wheelers at Shindewadi on the Pune-Satara highway around 9 am.

Rubal fell on the road and was hit by another vehicle coming from the other side, police said.

“Rubal died in the incident. She worked at a company in Pune. Her friend, who was riding the two wheeler, was left injured and has been admitted to a hospital for treatment,” said Police inspector S V Jagtap.

Police have arrested the truck driver in this case.
