Maharashtra: Last date to apply for Class 11 admission extended to June 5

The last date to submit applications for Class 11 first year junior college (FYJC) has been extended to June 5 till 2pm from the earlier date of June 3, said a press note by Sriram Pamjhade, director of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

The date has been extended to give students, schools and junior colleges sufficient time to change their preferences in the online central admission process.

For Class 11 admissions this year, the state government had originally decided that the 10% in-house quota will not be applicable for students of schools of the same management that are not located on the same premises as the junior college. However, after opposition by the institutes, this rule was partially revoked and schools and junior colleges located in the same revenue district (excluding Mumbai city, Mumbai suburban and Thane, which will be considered one unit) will be allowed to opt for the in-house quota.

The total student enrolment for Class 11 till June 2 was 10,85,851. The division wise distribution is as follows:

Pune – 1,87,925

Mumbai – 2,65,900

Kolhapur – 1,07,012

Chh Sambhaji Nagar – 1,00,040

Nashik – 1,12,108

Nagpur – 95,210

Amravati – 98,359

Latur – 58,586
