The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (Maha-Metro) has prepared a draft MoU for construction of the new Chhatrapati Shivajinagar Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus station.

Maha-Metro executive director Hemant Sonawane confirmed the plan will soon be shared with MSRTC and construction will begin once approval is granted. “We will discuss the draft plan with MSRTC, and following their approval, the modalities will be decided, whether to proceed with a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model etc. After this, the tendering process will be finalised, and the construction agency will be appointed,” he said.

MSRTC had offered land to Maha-Metro in 2019 for construction of the Shivajinagar underground Metro station. As per the agreement, Maha-Metro is supposed to facilitate the construction of a new Shivajinagar bus depot with other facilities.
