Lt Gen Sahasrabuddhe dead

Lt. Gen. Y.D. Sahasrabuddhe,patron and former chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan,Pune chapter passed away recently after brief illness. He was 84 and survived by wife,two sons and grandchildren.

While in defence services,Gen. Sahasrabddhe actively participated in 1965 and 1971 wars. He was honoured with Param Vishishta Seva Medal (PVSM) by the Government of India,for his outstanding contribution in the Armed Forces of the country.

He was actively involved in various organisations and was president of Express Citizens’ Forum and was founder president of Nagrik Chetana Manch. After serving Indian Armed Forces for 39 years,Gen. Sahasrabuddhe was actively involved in various educational and social activities in the city. He was instrumental in all round development of various units under Pune unit of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.
