Labourer falls down building duct,dies

A 23-year-old unskilled labourer died after falling down the duct of an elevator in an under-construction building in Jambhulwadi. According to Ravi Baban Khandare’s wife,he had consumed alcohol and that may have been the reason behind his fall.

Khandare,a resident of Jambhulwadi Road (Damani Plot),left his residence around 10pm on Monday,telling his wife Amrapali that he was going to work at a mortar plant. Later on Tuesday,security guards at one of the Aastha buildings in Jambhulwadi found him in the duct. Police was informed and Khandare was rushed to Sassoon hospital. However,doctors could not save him. Assistant Police Inspector of Dattawadi S L Mahale is investigating the matter.
