The NCP-Congress alliance in the Pune Municipal Corporation managed to get its corporators elected unopposed to the post of chairman and deputy chairman of city improvement committee.

The NCP-Congress alliance in the Pune Municipal Corporation managed to get its corporators elected unopposed to the post of chairman and deputy chairman of city improvement committee.

In the elections held on Thursday,Congress corporator Virendra Kirad was elected as chairman and Sunil Gogale of NCP as deputy chairman of city improvement committee.

Sulochana Tupe of NCP was elected as chairperson and Vaijyanti Pasalkar as deputy chairperson of Legal committee.

Similarly,the NCP-Congress alliance managed to get its corporator Ratnaprabha Jagtap and Vidya Bhokare elected as chairperson and deputy chairperson of Women and Child Development committee.

In October last year ahead of assembly polls,the NCP joined hands with Congress for a power sharing formula. Accordingly,the Congress got its corporator Arvind Shinde elected as chairman of standing committee. The NCP was in alliance with Shiv Sena and BJP for two years since 2007 civic poll despite having differences on various issues. The alliance came to end ahead of assembly polls and the NCP joined hands with Congress to share power in the civic body. Accordingly,NCP leader Mohansingh Rajpal and Congress leader Prassana Jagtap of Congress were elected as Mayor and Deputy Mayor of PMC.
