Khadki Cantonment Hospital to get new ultrasonography machine

The board members examined the tenders which were received for the installation of new ultra sonography machine at the Dr Babasheb Ambedkar cantonment general hospital. The board decided that a new ultrasonograpahy machine will be purchased shortly as the old one was not functioning for a long time and was declared to be “non repairable by the service personnel.’’

Earlier the Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of the cantonment hospital took up the matter with the cantonment board that its ultrasonography machine was not functioning from April this year. The board which called the tenders approved them only this month. It had received only two tenders for the purchase of sonography machine and approved one of them for the purchase.

“ The board has approved the purchase of the ultrasound machine and we are waiting for the government resolution to buy it from the market,’’ said an official from the cantonment hospital. He said that one of the tenderers,Wipro GE healthcare private ltd had quoted the lowest rate of Rs 12.7 lakh for the installation of the machine ,and accordingly,the board decided to purchase it from them as the other bid was nearly Rs 1 lakh more.

In the board meeting the cantonment also decided on the annual maintenance of the biochemistry analyzer at the laboratory of the cantonment hospital. The board considered the office note dated 21.6.2010 received from the RMO of the cantonment hospital for annual maintaince of the contract for the selectra junior bio-chemistry analyzer for a period of one year from September 1 this year to 1 August next year.
