Kakade clinches gold medal

Kakade,who trains at the Gun For Glory Shooting Academy,shot a score of 35 out of 60 to top the podium.

Vikram Kakade created history by becoming the first shooter from Maharashtra to clinch the gold medal in the men’s double trap event at the 23rd All India G V Malvankar Shooting championships (shotgun) 2013 at Patiala on Sunday. Kakade,who trains at the Gun For Glory Shooting Academy,shot a score of 35 out of 60 to top the podium and in the process also became the first shooter from Maharashtra to qualify for the National Shooting Championships,which will be held in December. While Jayesh Pratap Singh of Madhya Pradesh shot 34 to bag silver,Ankur Singh of Air India shot 33 and won bronze.
