‘Joyfest’ held to raise funds

‘Joyfest’,a series of events in various colleges in the city,was organised by Rotaract District 3131 in collaboration with an NGO ‘Give India,’ as part of the celebrations on the occasion of the “Joy of giving” week between September 27 and October 3.

The events included fashion shows,singing and dance events,drama,performances by foreign students,diya paintings,tattoo making,selling of lunch bags,and a short films festival screening. The colleges and Rotaract clubs used the events as a medium for fundraising for the NGO and interacting with the not-so-fortunate children.

“Deserving NGOs partnered us in the venture and got benefited in the process as they got an excellent platform to give publicity to their various activities and noble services rendered by them for the benefit of society. They also got opportunities to mobilize funds for their organization,” said Anant Sampat,District Rotract Representative.

Celebrities like Sachin Tendulkar,AR Rahman,Mani Ratnam and Farah Khan were the brand ambassadors for the event; ‘Joyfest’ was conducted with great fanfare all over the country,a release said.
