Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde on Sunday met party leader Ravindra Dhangekar, who had trained guns on Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol over the Jain property trust case, in an effort to pacify him.

However, Dhangekar remains firm on his plan to hold Pune MP accountable and expose him. On the other hand, the Pune BJP unit has promised to give Dhangekar a befitting reply if he does not restrain himself.

”The Deputy CM had come to Alandi today for an event. On my own, I went to Alandi and met him. Eknath Shinde is my leader. During the conversation, Eknath Shinde told me that he will find a solution to the Jain trust property issue within two days,” Dhangekar told this paper in the evening.

Asked whether Shinde had asked him to withdraw his agitation, Dhangekar replied that he had not. Dhangekar said, “I have support from BJP leaders but don’t ask me to reveal their names.”

On the topic of toning down his campaign against Mohol, Dhangekar said, ”From tomorrow I will launch a sit-in agitation against Mohol. I will continue my agitation till he cancels the sale deed pertaining to Jain trust property.”

Speaking to reporters, Shinde said, ”I have already told Dhangekar that there should be no disputes in the Mahayuti…”

Shinde added,” I have told him that the issue has now ended…Whatever he has spoken was based on the information that he received. I have told him that we should not give the opposition a chance to hit back at us.”

Dhangekar in a tweet on Sunday alleged that Mohal had given a concession of Rs 200 crore to an aircraft company. ”He has done this as an Union Minister…I have sought clarification from him,” he said.

Mohol had announced on Saturday that by November 1, the Jain trust property issue would be resolved. ”Mohol spoke after a good 18 days. Why was he silent all this while? I will continue to expose him till justice is done to the Jain community,” he said.

At a press conference in the city on Saturday, the Pune city unit of BJP, however, warned Dhangekar that he would get a befitting reply if he continued to target Mohol. ”Because of alliance dharma, we are silent till now. If Dhangekar continues to make wild charges, we will give him a befitting reply to him,” said BJP city leaders Deeraj Ghare and Ganesh Bidkar. To this Dhangekar hit back, saying, ”Let them do what they want to…I will continue to do what I am doing.”

BJP spokesperson Sandeep Khardekar said, ”Murlidhar Mohol has already promised the Jain community that he will take decisions as per their wish….The Jain community’s sentiments will be respected and a decision will be taken according to their needs. The issue should resolved this week.”
