Two youngsters were selected to represent India at the Telenor Youth Summit in Norway,a contest conducted by Uninor. It was open for participants in the age-group of 18 to 25 years. Abhishek Gupta from IIT Kanpur,with his idea of utilising mobile connectivity to empower Indian farmers to obtain better rates for their produce; and Shikha Pathak from SIMC,Pune,with her mobile tech-based solution for womens safety will travel to Oslo to participate in the summit. The jury included Maya Sami,Creative Director of Wizcraft International Events; Albert Almeida,COO,Hungama; Helge Tryti,Director,Innovation Norway,in addition to CEO,Uninor. The Telenor Youth Summit is being organised by the Telenor Group in partnership with the Nobel Peace Centre and will coincide with the Nobel Peace Prize event. The summit will see youngsters from various parts of the world. The result of the summit will be presented to the Nobel Peace Centre and at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in early 2014. In addition,the participants will be able to contribute ideas and inputs to an exhibition by the centre.

Cycling for a Cause
The Westin Rotary Club organised a charity cycle ride to support a school adopted near Ambavade village,Baneshwar,with a long-term vision to bring a positive change in the school and the community. The 15-km charity ride,wherein 29 riders including 10 from Rotary Club participated,started from IDMR Institute on BMCC Road and travelled via Ferguson College road,University Circle,to Pashan circle and back. Every cycle carried a placard with the message Save Girl Child. PDG Mohan Palesha was present to flag off the event in the morning.
