Indian Naval Hospital holds medical camp at Kurvande village

Indian Naval Hospital INHS Kasturi, based in Lonavala, organised a multi-specialty medical camp at Kurvande village on Sunday in co-ordination with the Gram Panchayat of the village, as a part of the social outreach activities on the occasion of Navy Week celebrations. The camp was inaugurated by Commodore KP Aravindan, Station Commander, Lonavala Naval Station.

Under the guidance of Surgeon Captain Kaustuv Chatterjee, Commanding Officer, INHS Kasturi, specialists in general medicine, general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and dentistry examined and treated about 400 residents of the village, said a press release. As part of the camp, health education lectures emphasising preventive aspects of vector-borne diseases and lifestyle diseases were conducted for the benefit of the villagers. Demonstration and training of on Basic Life Support was imparted to the villagers.
The press release added that blood grouping of school-going children from the village was also carried out during the medical camp. The village sarpanch Roshan Sasane, deputy sarpanch Vishal Kadu, Police Patil Tara Bai Kadu, Gram Sevika Pratibha Kumbhare and their staff were present at the medical camp.
