Pune Bar Association to launch its website today
Pune District Judge Madan Joshi will launch the Pune Bar Association’s (PBA) official website,www.punebarassociation.com,on Thursday.
The portal will have contact numbers and addresses of all members of the PBA,information on the Pune district court and other courts in the city like labour,industrial and family,” said Milind Pawar,president,PBA. Pawar said the portal will give details of all district judges,directors general of police and PBA president till date.
Eventually,information on important cases being heard in the district court can also be accessed. The PBA will open its membership soon and an updated list of members will be available on the portal,he said.

Shiledar takes over as RAMA president
Dinkar Shiledar of Mona Advertising has taken over as the president of Regional Advertising Marketing Association (RAMA). He is joined by Abhay Lohokare of Suvastu Advertising as the secretary,Anjan Barve of New Horizon as the treasurer and Vijay Raikar of SJ Advertising as the vice president. Shiledar,in his presidential speech mentioned that efforts would be made to take the association to the next level. To make the association stronger he has invited associated businesses like event management companies,web solution providers,recording studios,publishing groups,outdoor media owners to become members of Rama.
The assoication also has plans to start chapters in other cities like Ahmednagar and Satara. Well-known compere Sudhir Gadgil,who was the guest of honour,expressed his disappointment over the lack of creativity through all forms of advertising.

Bhosale appointed India ambassador of United Nations For a Free Tibet
BAPPUSAHEB Bhosale,founder-president of the Dalit Panthers of India,has been appointed as ambassador for India of the United Nations For a Free Tibet,a non-profit organisation based in California,USA. Bhosale has supported the cause of free Tibet and has consistently supported His Holiness The Dalai Lama on several occasions. Bhosale was recently honoured by President Pratibha Patil for his service to the poor and downtrodden,stated a press release.

Environmental award for Palekar,Kirloskar
AMANORA Park Town,the township being developed by City Corporation Ltd in association with ALERT,an NGO for the cause of creating awareness on global warming,recently hosted an event to celebrate World Environment Day.
The “Green Leader Awards 2010” were presented to corporates and others who have been actively involved in environment,protection and conservation.
The awardees include Sanjay Kirloskar,Mukesh Malhotra,Pradeep Bhargava,Sunetra Pawar,Amol Palekar,Hemant Panchama,Dr Eruch Barch,Nitin Pradhan,Oranage County,Loksatta journalist Abhijit Ghorpade,Jugal Rathi and Nandkumar Gulabrao Ghule.
The event was aimed at bringing sections of the society together to foster mutual understanding towards aiming for a cleaner,more environment-friendly and less carbon print/emissions city.

VETERAN Congress leader Vimal Kapote (72) passed away recently after a brief illness. Vimal is survived by her husband Dadasaheb Kapote,who is a labour leader,son Nandkishore Kapote,noted dancer,two other sons and grandchildren.
